Depression Treatment

Depression is a liar. It tries to convince you that you're worthless, helpless, and that things will never get better. It can make you lose motivation, not allow you to enjoy things you used to love, and make the smallest tasks feel overwhelming. Has it ever taken so much energy just *thinking* about doing something that you ended up taking a nap instead? That's your body's way of shutting down for awhile because you're overstimulated and stressed out.

Depression is so much more than just being sad. Sadness is temporary and occurs after we experience an upsetting event. Depression can look like hopelessness, guilt, irritability, low self-esteem, being more tired than usual, eating too much or not enough, and uncontrollable emotions. It's a constant heaviness in your heart.

Depressive thoughts are dark, scary, and NOT true. They will do everything they can to make you feel powerless, but you can learn ways to take that power back. You can experience joy again and have meaningful connections with others. I can help you learn coping tools to manage your symptoms and feel hopeful again. Please contact me so we can get you out of that dark place. Through the darkness we find our light.
